We cannot recommend Henry and Top Dog Training enough.  We had Henry out on the 2nd Sept to help us with our anxious, hyper Cockapoo Tyson.  Tyson had difficulty on a lead when we encountered people, cars, trailers,  tractors etc in that he'd run after them, play, bark, lead pull etc but after the session he was so much better, now it is still a work in progress but he's 100% better than he was which is absolutely brilliant.  He would go mental if someone God forbid was walking on the road past the house running from window to window barking and jumping etc, again this has stopped.  We did want him to bark to notify us if someone at the door but we didn't want all the other carryon so Henry showed us how to do that with Tyson and thankfully its working.  I just wish I'd contacted Henry earlier its worth every penny.  Tyson is so much calmer and relaxed and it turn so are we.  Thanks again Henry.

Can't describe how happy I am with the result. I can walk my dog after at least a year of just using private dog parks. To take her out without worrying about meeting another dog is a massive relief. And it took only 2 hours for this magical transformation. Highly recommend as my dog was very reactive and she's big and strong so could drag me around if she wanted. Henry was exceptional from start to finish with our 7 month old Golden Retriever. At first,  I wasnt sure if 2 hours would be enough to cover the issues we had ongoing with our dog Bowie. From the get go, Henry covered all our topics/issues we needed seeing too professionally, such as, counter surfing, anxiety, crate and leash training, along with great advice on how to settle Bowie in with a new born baby. Since Henry visit, Bowie has been thriving in the training and each day its easier managing Bowie and seeing the results. We got in touch with Henry at Top Dog Training as we were having a few behavioural issues with our 6-month-old Cockapoo, and honestly, he was brilliant!

Henry spent over 2 hours with us, taking the time to understand the issues and showing us what we could do to help. He also covered lots of other trainingbadvice such as recall & lead walking. He was also great afterwards and was always available to answer any questions we had.

There’s been such a big change in our dog since the training. We had family over last week and they couldn’t believe the difference in him!

Henry came to help with my 16 week Cockapoo. She is super hyper and Henry helped with how to train her to walk, toilet outside, stop barking and leave things like jumping on tables etc. Also got advice on dog food , leads and treats. This is the First time I can trust my puppy in the front room and I feel confident now I have the tools to continue the training. Henry has helped us enormously with our boisterous Labradoodle puppy, who was counter-surfing, jumping up on people and chewing on our cat! Paddy was very reactive towards other dogs on walks - lunging, barking and doing the highly embarrassing Frenchie death cry. Our walks were stressful and I constantly thought ahead of where to go and when, to avoid other dogs. That has all changed! It is still early days and we keep practicing but already the difference is unbelievable. Anybody on the fence about working with Henry - just do it. It's worth every penny. Henry visited our home on 11th May 2026 to help us with our 6-year-old Cockapoo, Coco, who has always been an extremely reactive dog. As a Covid puppy, Coco struggled with meeting new people and was very reactive on walks.
Even after the first two-hour session, we noticed an immediate improvement in her behaviour. We’ve continued using Henry’s techniques and are seeing positive changes every single day.
Our only regret is not contacting him sooner. We got our border collie, Bob, from the pound 6 months ago. We were told he was 3 or 4 years old. We read books and watched videos but were unable to train him ourselves.
His main issue was being reactive to other animals. Very quickly Henry was able to teach us to have Bob walk beside us on a lead, stop reactions to other dogs, return when called and walk off lead.
It's been two weeks and it feels like a different dog! Our walks are enjoyable. He rarely reacts to other dogs and when he does we have the tools to cope. We have even brought him to the beach off lead (with 10m rope just in case).
Bob is thriving with his new routine. A key element is the advice Henry gave us regarding his food and treats. The photo is a very happy Bob enjoying his Hannah's Himalayan Yak Milk Chew while we eat our dinner.
Getting Henry from Top Dog Training was a big investment but it is one we are thrilled we did as it has improved our relationship with Bob and means we are happy to take him more places and know it will be enjoyable for all. Hi there, our daughter just had a baby and out 6 year old Westie, Kenzi, did not like the baby in the house. She would bark continuously and caused so much stress to herself and all of us. We spent 9 months trying everything to calm her down but nothing worked.
We then contacted Henry who was able to change Kenzi's behaviour within 20 minutes. After the full 2 hours, Kenzi was calm, understood where she was in the pack and accepted Mae, our granddaughter, into the house without any barking or fuss.
Henry is amazing and totally understands how a dog's mind works and is able to retrain the dog to make sure their behaviour is acceptable in the family home.

We were struggling with our five month old large Goldendoodle puppy consistently barking at night, jumping on the kids, taking things from the kids, walking on the lead. One session Henry changed all of that instantly. She is a completely different dog now. She is so much calmer and happier. She has no problems walking on the lead, sleeping on her own at night and respecting the kids boundaries. She is really good at walks now also, and really calm and friendly when she meets other dogs, and no longer jumps on every stranger she meets. We didn't think it was possible for so much to change so quickly, but it did. Since the training two weeks ago, everyone in the house has had sufficient sleep and the kids and the dog have fallen in love all over again.
